September 5, 2007 Board Members Attending: Benny Jesseman, Joan Kenney, Allen Gould, Rob Casella, Charlie Mallar, Susan Staples Smith, Laura Sorochak, Donna Dolan, Dan Andrews Board Members Not Attending: Myles Crowe, Steve Canales, Ralph Lutjen, Bill Botsford, Dick Ficke, Motion to approve Secretary’s Report.First Allen Gould Treasurer’s Report was not current so another copy will be requested for review at October 10 board meeting.Old Business Joan reminded Rob that raffle permit expires on October 30.Rob will follow up on unpaid bills accumulating over the summer.New Business Motion to discount Golden Goose tickets from $30 to $15 to K family members only. First: Allen Gould We cannot sell to others since other non-profits sell at the $30 price. The reason we are doing this is we are so late is starting to sell tickets for the Sep 14 event. See Rob for tickets. It was suggested that a Golden Goose chair be appointed in May, 2008 to avoid being late again. Rob will get check for $500 to Allen Gould for Jen’s Friends. Sue will send out email for those wanting to hike with Kiwanis group on Sep 22. Ideas to lower meeting costs - to be able to attract more new, younger members were discussed. Next year, we will make an effort to have one low cost meeting a month (probably the business and board meeting). More discussion and details to be worked out. Discussion tabled to October meeting when Myles can be present. Thank you notes - received from Tin Mountain, student who went to marine biology program, four students who attended a Key Leader weekend, Children’s Unlimited Requests We tabled request from Children’s Museum for $250 to October 10 meeting when we consider the 2007-2008 budget.
