MWV Kiwanis has a long history in the valley.
Our club proudly supports after-school programs at Kennett High School, including Key Club, sports teams, vocational programs, the Robotics Club, and the music department. We also sponsor K-Kids and a Builders Club at several local schools. Once a year, we bring our entire club and youth programs together for Kiwanis Family Fun Day, promoting connection and collaboration. In addition, we contribute to MWV community organizations such as Starting Point , (who provides free and confidential services for victims of domestic and sexual violence and their children) MWV Habitat for Humanity, Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation, Pope Library, Kismet Rock Foundation, Mt. Washington Valley School to Career Program, The Dinner Bell, and the North Conway Community Center— all of whom serve children as part of their mission.
Here are some photos of a few of the groups we’ve supported:

Kid’s Clubs
Our club sponsors youth Kwianis programs including Key Club (high school), Builder’s Club (middle school) & K-Kids (elementary school) to empower young students to develop leadership skills and give back to their community through service projects and teamwork, guided by Kiwanis values.

Angels and Elves
Angels & Elves has been a service project of the Kiwanis Club of Mount Washington Valley since 2003. The goal of the program is to ensure that 450-600 underserved children in the Mount Washington Valley receive gifts during the holiday season.

Read Today, Lead Tomorrow
The Read Today, Lead Tomorrow program encourages reading and service leadership among children by gifting books and engaging students in discussions on community service. Since its launch in 2019, the program has expanded from giving out just over 200 books at one school to distributing 1,052 books across eight local elementary schools, inspiring young readers throughout the valley.

Camp Sunshine
Camp Sunshine brings hope and community to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Located on Sebago Lake in Maine, it offers free, year-round sessions where families can recharge and connect with others facing similar challenges. We support Camp Sunshine through financial contributions, sponsorship of the Key Club’s annual Ski for Sunshine event at Cranmore, and participation in the annual bereavement weekend.

College Bound Seniors
Approximately $12,000 in scholarships will be awarded to Kennett High School Key Club seniors, supporting their academic goals and future success.

Dental Program
We provide preventative and emergency dental care, including sponsoring free dental checkups at local schools to support children’s health and well-being.

Child Safety-Free Bike Helmets
MWV Kiwanis collaborates with the Mount Washington Valley Bicycling Club who hosts an annual Kids‘ Bike Safety Day at Story Land in Glen, New Hampshire. This free event is designed for children aged 5 to 11 and their families, offering activities such as bicycle evaluations, helmet safety checks, and a bike safety and handling course along the park’s roads and walkways. Participants can also receive free helmets.

Service Projects
Our club members have proudly renovated the Starting Point Home for Domestic Abuse Victims and their children, Mother Seton Home, Children Unlimited, and North Conway Day Care, while also contributing to community beautification through roadside cleanups.

Library Programs
MWV Kiwanis is proud to sponsor family programs, such as the return of A Moose with a Uke Halloween Show at the library! Families are invited to wear their costumes and enjoy a fun-filled evening with music and art from Monty, followed by trick-or-treating throughout the library. This free community event promises laughter, creativity, and Halloween fun for all ages!

School Booster Booth
To support school sports, a few times a year, we volunteer to run the Kennett High School Football booster booth, cooking and selling food at games to help raise funds for the teams so parents can focus on watching their kids play.
We cook up food once a year for the MWV Soccer Club and volunteer several times a year to help out with KHS Basketball concessions!

Shooting Star Fund
The Kiwanis Club of Mount Washington Valley is proud to sponsor the Shooting Star Fund, a charitable initiative dedicated to lifting the spirits of children facing serious physical or emotional challenges. The fund provides special gifts and memorable experiences that bring lasting joy, helping children feel supported and cared for by their community during difficult times.

Pies for American Legion’s Thanksgiving Dinners
MWV Kiwanis proudly supports the Conway American Legion’s Thanksgiving Dinners for those in need by contributing pies for the holiday meal. Donations are collected at our early November meeting in an effort to help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for our community!
