We meet at the Eagle Mountain House with social time starting at 5:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. The speaker will be Kimberli Lewis who is a long time friend of our club and especially Angels and Elves. Kimberli Lewis is the General Manager/Board member of the Search and Information Association Europe (SIINDA). One of SIINDA’s primary purposes is to ensure that the rights of businesses and competitive platforms are recognized in the formulation of the new legislation and are consistently communicating this with EU legislators.
She will talk to us about what kind of impact GPDR has had, how many still do not understand GDPR, the current trends in the US following GDPR and what the next generation of digital legislation will look like. In May 2018 the rules in the digital world changed when the Europeans implemented GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Shortly after the implementation of GDPR, the US jumped on the wagon when California initiated the CCPA legislation. Her focus will be on how business can make sense of all this legislation and how they can simply implement these changes into their business activities.
